Alex Chen: Lead Motion Instructor

Alex brings over a decade of experience from leading motion studios like Buck and Giant Ant, having worked on campaigns for global brands. His passion lies in demystifying complex animation concepts.

At Perandrixomelra, Alex's teaching philosophy transcends software commands. "We focus on the 'why'—the fundamental principles of animation—not just the 'how' of clicking buttons," he explains. "Understanding concepts like timing, spacing, and anticipation allows our students to adapt to any tool and develop their unique creative voice." Alex guides students from foundational theories to practical application, ensuring they graduate not just as software operators, but as true motion artists.

Bootcamp FAQs

Have questions about our Motion Graphics & Animation Bootcamp? We've got answers.

Not at all! Our bootcamp focuses intensely on motion and animation principles. While basic design sensibility is helpful, we provide pre-made assets for many exercises, allowing you to concentrate on bringing elements to life through movement. Your drawing skill is not a prerequisite.

Software licenses are not included. Students are required to have an active subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Adobe After Effects. For 3D elements, we utilize Maxon Cinema 4D, and while a commercial license is ideal, many introductory exercises can be completed with the free Lite version that often comes bundled with After Effects, or the student trial version.

Optimizing your hardware will greatly enhance your learning experience. We highly recommend a modern computer (less than 3-4 years old) with at least 16GB of RAM, a dedicated graphics card with at least 4GB VRAM, and a fast SSD drive for smooth motion graphics and 3D rendering. A dual-monitor setup is also beneficial.

To ensure personalized attention and foster a strong community, our bootcamp cohorts are capped at 15 students. This allows for ample one-on-one feedback, in-depth discussions, and a truly collaborative learning environment.
